The Host/Executive Producer of Talk of the Desert is Melinda Read.  

Melinda is a former Mrs. California International 1996 and Mrs. Washington America 1991, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and has her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, Washington.  

Talk of the Desert is strictly biographical.  Her non-aggressive interview style often results in celebrity guests sharing information on their career that they had never previously talked about in public.

Melinda's guests are a who's who of the entertainment industry.   Glen Campbell, Andy Williams, Lee Iacocca, Hal Linden, Barbara Sinatra, Jack Jones, Jerry Vale, Frankie Randall, Carol Channing, Keely Smith, Shirley Jones, Peter Marshall, Alan Thicke, Trini Lopez, Tony Orlando, Gary Mule Deer, Ruta Lee, Fred Travalena, Frankie Valli, Rich Little, Kaye Ballard, Dick Van Dyke, Arte Johnson, Tom Dreesen, Buddy Greco, Howard Keel and the list continues to grow!  

Since March of 1999, this is Talk of the Desert's 16th season and Melinda has hosted and produced over 575 half hour episodes.
